Forsyth Jail & Prison Ministries hosted our highly anticipated ribbon cutting at the Restoration Center on May 7, 2026. More than 100 attendees celebrated the ribbon cutting with remarks from Mark Hogsed, Executive Director, Holly Kessler, Director of Community Engagement, and North Carolina’s First Lady, Mrs. Anna Stein.
Located at 4692 Brownsboro Road in Winston-Salem, the Restoration Center is part of FJPM’s highly successful Transition to Work program. Transition to Work provides a pre-release program for men in their last two years of incarceration and offers post-release support for reentry into the community. The Restoration Center will provide structured case management support for individuals working to rebuild their lives after incarceration. The program focuses on safe and affordable transitional housing, living wage employment, reliable transportation, financial stability, and life skills development. These are the building blocks which create long-term reentry success.
Restoration Center Brings Hope
“This center represents hope and a fresh start for men who are committed to changing their lives,” said Mark Hogsed, Executive Director. “We believe that when individuals are given the support and opportunity they need, they can successfully reintegrate and make meaningful contributions to our community.”
The Restoration Center is part of FJPM’s broader mission to reduce recidivism and promote transformation through spiritual growth, mentorship, and practical support. Participants in the program will have access to resources that help address barriers to reentry, including employment, housing, and personal development. Since 2015, more than 300 men have graduated from the Transition to Work program. The recidivism rate for these men is 8% compared to the North Carolina average of 45% and the national average of more than 60%.
Campaign Nearing the Finish Line
