The Impact of Imprisonment

When someone is sent to jail or prison, he or she is not the only one to suffer. Spouses, children, parents, even pets, may face consequences when a loved one is incarcerated. From lost income, to lost guidance for children, there are any number of impact points that may be touched by one’s incarceration.

Children of an incarcerated parent can look to organizations like Big Brothers/Big Sisters for mentoring and emotional support.

For other emotional and spiritual support, organizations like On Wings Like A Dove can help people cope with the stress of having a loved one incarcerated.

If you feel called to help, please consider donating time and/or resources to these or other groups like them that are so desperately needed by families throughout North Carolina.
